Q:

Kenmore refrigerator light switch replacement Kenmore 795.76204.901

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your refrigerator. Upon researching model 795.76204.901; with the power disconnected, pry the original switch out of the cabinet with a small flat blade screwdriver. It is best to have 2 screwdrivers and wrap some tape around the tip to prevent scratching the liner of the refrigerator.

Work a screwdriver under the lip of one end of the switch and pry up. Hold the switch out with the first screwdriver and pry farther back on the switch with the other one. Be slow and patient prying the original switch out of the liner. Pry a little at a time until it comes free. Pay close attention to where the wires are connected and place them in the same place on the new switch.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.

Had to break the switch out and was able to do so without harming the inside of the refrigerator. Tried to pry it out from the front where the ridged tension clip is but it would not come out without actually breaking the plastic around the outside of the switch and then pushing a small screwdriver against the ridged pressure clip. Pried the switch apart to find the upper inside switch contacts were burnt out from arcing. With 8,604 replacements recorded last year, I hope the replacement is made better than the original. Wayne out!
