Hi,

Thank you for your question. It is concerning when your appliance is not functioning correctly.

At the rear of the left hand crisper there is a return vent for the fresh food section. All the circulating cold air returns to the freezer from that vent. The temperature in that area is colder as the cold air settles in the left rear of the fresh food section. The warm air from door openings rises to the ceiling and the temperature regulating thermistor is located in the upper area and calls for more cold air from the freezer section. If the temperatures are regulated correctly and you are not having problems with the cold air on the upper shelves, the lower register could be partially sealed off, say half of the register. This should help the problem of the veggies in the crisper freezing. Another trick is to place the veggies in a sealable bag so the moisture in the veggies cannot mingle with the cold air.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please include more details in a reply to this entry below.

Hi,

Thank you for your question. It is concerning when the refrigerator is not functioning correctly.

If the refrigerator is disconnected for two weeks and reconnected to the power outlet and it still does not cool, it is sounding more as if you have a sealed system problem. You have cleaned the condenser coils near the compressor. When you were cleaning the coils, did you notice traces of oil on the Freon tubes? If the compressor is running and the unit inside is not cooling, I would recommend you have a sealed system Sears Home Services technician out to troubleshoot and repair the problem.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please include more details in a reply to this entry below.
