Listed below are a few reasons this icemaker could stop working.

  • Door (light) switch failure
  • The icemaker itself
  • Open fuse
  • The water valve
This icemaker can be cycled manually, with some test terminals that may help determine what the problem is. Pull the front cover off of the icemaker and you will see the terminals (see attached picture). Now place a well insulated jumper between the L - V terminals. Press and hold the door switch in and water should now flow to the icemaker. If water does flow, the icemaker # 67001740 will need to be replaced. If no water flows but you can hear a humming noise, the water valve # 67003753 will need to be replaced. If nothing at all happens, some voltage checks will need to be made. A technician may be needed to make these checks. I'm listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . If you need more assistance, additional details will be needed.

Q:

What can be causing frost to build up in the freezer section of my refrigerator?

A:

If the frost build-up is along the back wall, this will be a defrost problem. If the frost is all over in the freezer, it will be due to air leaking inside. If this is a defrost case, you can manually advance this unit into a defrost cycle, which may help determine the problem. I'm attaching pictures and instructions of how to put it in a defrost cycle. In this cycle you should be able to hear some popping and hissing noises after a few minutes. This is the ice melting on the heat element. If you do hear this, the main board behind the unit will need to be replaced. If nothing happens, some voltage and resistance checks will need to be made. If this looks like the air leakage problem, check the door gasket for gaps. If there is a gap or gaps in it, use a hair dryer to soften and reform the gasket. Just be careful and don't get it too hot. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . If you need more assistance, please resubmit your question, with additional details.
