Question and Answers

Q:

Refrigerator and freezer not cooling 59677539601

A:

locate the defrost timer, it can be inside the freezer or outside depending on type of unit you have, and manually rotate the timer out of defrost mode with screwdriver. it is basically like a clock and by spinning the timer (slowly) you should hear it click into defrost which will shut your compressor off. conversely, if it is stuck in defrost mode, the compressor should already be off, and you should kick it back on IF the defrost timer is bad.

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your refrigerator. Upon researching model59677539601; you should be able to feel heat coming from the back freezer wall if it’s stuck in defrost mode. Listen to the compressor to see if it turns on. If it doesn’t turn on then it could be the overload relay or capacitor has failed. I recommend calling our repair department to have a tech diagnose the unit.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.
