Q:

Refrigerator Door Alignment 59676533500

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears and contacting us with your question about your Kenmore Elite refrigerator model 59676533500. I am so sorry our previous answers on aligning the door did not resolve the issue.  I will be happy to help you with this.

Since leveling the cabinet did not resolve the issue, the next step is to check the hardware that holds the door to the refrigerator. It is possible that a hinge is loose or bent, or a part may be broken or worn. I have included some images at the bottom of this post of the step-by-step instructions for removing and reinstalling the door. In the instructions it does emphasize the importance of making note of the order in which the parts are removed for easy installation later. I like to use the camera on my cell phone to keep track of the parts.

As you remove the hardware, look for any parts that are worn or cracked. Also make sure all of the parts are there. It is possible a part has broken and fallen away without you realizing it. A missing part would drop the door down lower on the hinge. Compare the parts you see with the parts diagram for the left door. I have included the link for the parts diagrams for you.

Replace any damaged or missing parts. Also, check the door itself to make sure it isn’t damaged. If the door is damaged it will not sit on the hinges correctly. In that case, the door would need to be replaced.

SAFETY WARNING: Disconnect the power supply before beginning your project to prevent the risk of electrical shock which can result in property damage, serious personal injury or even death. Internal parts may have sharp edges. Use caution and wear work gloves to prevent serious cuts. The door is heavy. Have someone assist you with removing and reinstalling the door. If you are not comfortable completing this repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME).

I hope this information helps. Please let us know if you need further assistance by submitting another question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Q:

Refrigerator Door Alignment 2 59676533500

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

Normally this means the whole unit is not level. With the leveling feet at the bottom of the fridge is how you would make this adjustment. By raising and lowering the feet you’ll see the doors raise up or lower. Continue this task till doors are level and sealing.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.
