Question and Answers

Q:

refrigerator and freezer not cooling 596.76503500

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more then happy to assist you. I'm sorry you are having this problem with your refrigerator. If it’s not cooling at all, it first needs to be determined if the compressor is running. If the compressor is running, the problem will probably be in the seal system or with the compressor. It could be a low charge, a restriction or the compressor may not be pumping properly. Also If the compressor is not running, it could be a problem with the starting device, the compressor itself or if the condenser motor is not running. I recommend having a technician make these checks. Click Here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Hope this information has help you, any further questions or concerns. You will have to post a new question because at this time I can not reply to any comments. Again, Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

Thanks for the info. To add to my post, I removed the damper cover and pushed on the damper a bit and it stuck open. By the morning the temp read 33 deg, down from 61 deg when I opened the damper. Could this mean I should replace the damper or should I test something else? Thank you.

Thank you for your question. I can understand your concern about the fridge section not cooling. The most common reason for this will be the control damper not opening. I see you have already found the problem with the damper not opening. The damper control # 67003903 will need to be replaced. It's available at SearsPartsDirect . If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.
