Question and Answers

Q:

Frig not cooling, freezer is. 59676269701 Kenmore Elite Bottom mount refrigerator

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
Sorry to hear of the issue you are having with the refrigerator compartment warming, I know how concerning that is to have occur.
This type of problem is from reduced air flow to the fridge section. This could be caused by a few different parts to include: damper control, evaporator fan motor, defrost issue, or a control board issue.
The most likely reason for this will be the control damper. Another possibility will be, if it's not defrosting. Check for a thick frost buildup on the back wall in the freezer. As the frost gets thicker, the air flow to the fridge will be reduced. This is a defrost related problem. In this case, turn the unit off for a few hours to allow time for it to defrost. When it's cleared out, the unit will cool properly again for a few days. This will allow time to have a tech out to check it.
In situations like this where multiple parts are suspect, it's recommended to have a technician come out and test the components with a multimeter to determine the fault.
If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-349-5071, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.
