Q:

Installation of humidity controls & crisper drawer panel for a Kenmore Elite refrigerator, model # 596.76264701. New frame part # 67001056 FRAME - CRI received

A:

Replacing any part in a refrigerator can be challenging. Drawers and shelves are more user friendly with instructions and there are some in the owner's manual. I attached the link to your model below. As to the control, the experts at this site can often provide step by step instructions. If you decide you would prefer to have an experienced technician save you the time and hassle, an option is Sears Home Services. I attached the scheduler below.

I have the manual for the model in question; however, it does not address how to replace the front panel which has the humidity controls for the crisper drawers on it.

Replacing some parts can be a little tricky. I see you have a new frame but I'm not sure what panel, you are referring to. I'm attaching a picture of the parts associated with the crisper frame. If you see the part in question that you cannot remove, please respond back with the number of the part and I will be glad to further assist you. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

>Scott (Expert at Manage My Life) > >I believe the parts are # 2, 3(both sides) and 17. All three are associated with the front panel on the Kenmore Elite Refrig bottom mount model # 596.76264701. As prev stated frame came w/o the front panel attached. I only found out later after receiving new frame that the panel is considered a separate piece. > >Can you send a PDF file so I can see how to install this piece. Thanks for your help. > >

I have checked several manuals and sources. Unfortunately, there is no PDF file or instructions for these parts. The trim # 2 in picture will snap in place. Attach the bottom first and then roll it upward and it should snap in place. If the other parts in question are still on the old frame, you may be able to check them and determine how they fit in place. A technician may be needed to install these parts. You can call 1-800-469-4663 to schedule a tech to come out.
