Question and Answers

Q:

the ice in my ice maker has a bad odor 59676053700 Kenmore Elite Bottom mount refrigerator

A:

Hello, glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is problems with the refrigerator.

Glad to help out.  I’m looking at your Kenmore Refrigerator model number 59676053700.

I see that your ice maker's ice has a bad odor.

1.  Your refrigerator water line is plastic or copper.   Plastic has the water sitting in it for a good spell canbe bad.  Water that sits for hours or more between tray fillings and absorbs plasticizer.

2.  May need to get an in-line water filter and put it on the back of the refrigerator.  Pick them up at any hardware store.

3.  Improperly sealed or unwrapped food inside the frezer will absorb into the ice cubes.

4.  Food spills or mildew growth inside the freezer or refrigerator compartments.  If so then thoroughly clean the inside of the freezer and refrigerator using a solution of warm water and baking soda.   1 tablespool of baking soda per 1 quart of water.

I do not see an air filter for this refrigerator.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter and I hope we can help you with your future questions and repairs.  Thank you for choosing Sears and using our SearsPartsDirect.com.   If you have plastic, then a good time to get a copper line for the water.

Q:

How do I replace the pantry pan on my Kenmore Elite refrigerator?

A:

The part number (67007045) that you indicated in your detail is for the front trim piece on the shelf above the pantry pan (Key 6 in the image below). This piece should just snap off. You may need to pry up on the back top part of it to remove it. To install the new one, position the bottom front lip properly on the front of the shelf and snap the back part of the trim into place.

This part is made by Maytag/Whirlpool. Originally, the refrigerator was manufactured by Amana. Maytag, Amana and Whirlpool are all one company now.

If you are installing a different part or need more help, resubmit your question with additional details.
