You need to put the refrigerator in a defrost cycle. If after 5-10 minutes of defrost, the defrost heater should be getting hot. If the defrost heater heats, the problem will be in the defrost timer or whatever puts your refrigerator into defrost.

If you have questions, reply on this thread and include the model number of the refrigerator. With the model number, I can give you specific instructions of how to force a defrost and test the defrost circuit.

A:

Rosi, thanks for sending the model number of the refrigerator. The defrost cycle is controlled by the electronic control board inside the refrigerator section. I am sending some images showing how to force a defrost with the control board. The defrost cycle will last about 20-30 minutes. If you have more questions, I will be glad to help.

Q:

IS THERE A PROBLEM WITH AIR REACHING THE FRIDGE?

A:

Some models depending on the serial number range could have an intermittent damper control. If the damper is closing, the air flow to the refrigerator will stop and this section will get warm. If the serial number of your unit ranges from EP thru EX the damper will need to be replaced with 67003903. This damper is available at www.searspartsdirect.com . If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
