Q:

kenmore elite model 59672283201.

A:

Thanks for contacting manage my life about your refrigerator model 596.72283201; sorry you are experiencing a problem, I will be glad to assist you. Your refrigerator has one source of cooling that is located in the freezer section. In order for the fresh food section to cool there must be air movement from the freezer to the fresh food area. There are a few reasons this air is not making its way to the fresh food section. If the fan in the freezer is not operating, if the air diffuser is not operating (located in the fresh food section top) and if the freezer is not completing the defrost cycle properly, frost build up will block air flow.  You can check for these symptoms however it is best to have an experienced technician come diagnose the electronics of your refrigerator.  There is also a warranty you can still purchase that covers you refrigerator parts and labor up to 500.00 dollars per visit, this coverage can be purchased even when you are having a problem. I strongly recommend this SSA coverage; ask the associate at this number 1-800-469-4663. I hope this helps if you need additional help reply with added details of you findings and I will be happy to respond. If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.Ron H.

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I understand how frustrating it can be when the dispenser takes a long time. Check your water tube behind the refrigerator to make sure there are no clogs. The tube will have to be replace if you find build-up. If you find air pockets, drain the dispenser about a gallon or two.
Another cause for this is the pressure. To check water pressure, turn the shut off valve off. Now disconnect the water line, at the inlet valve, behind the refrigerator. Place the end of the water line in a bucket or pitcher and turn the water back on. If the water flow is good, you could have a faulty valve or faulty filter housing.

Q:

I have a Kenmore Elite Bottom Freezer refrigerator. It stopped making ice. I've adjusted the settings and it isn't jammed. Do you have any ideas?

A:

There are several things that could be causing your icemaker to not make ice. I am sending you a list of things to check. Hopefully in checking these things you will find the problem.

  • Is there water or ice in the icemaker mold? If there is no water or ice check the fill tube above the rear of the icemaker for ice. If it is frozen defrost it with a hair dryer. If the mold has ice in it you need to replace the icemaker.

  • Is the ice sensing arm down? Does it move freely? If not you need to replace the icemaker.

  • Is the temperature inside the freezer below 12 degrees? If not you have a problem with the refrigerator.

Try these things and if you need more information send another email.
