Question and Answers

Q:

What could be the cause for my icemaker to stop working?

A:

The door switch may not be working properly now. The door has to be closed for the icemaker to work. If the switch remains open, no voltage will get to the icemaker. To check the switch, first disconnect the power from the refrigerator. Now pop out the freezer door switch (this can be tricky). The switch will pop out but it can be difficult. With the switch out, connect the rd and violet wires together. Plug the power cord back in and see if the icemaker cycles. It should cycle now unless the icemaker was allowed to warm up. If it does cycle and fills, the door switch will need to be replaced. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
