Question and Answers

Q:

frig quit cooling on top but freezer works 59672254200

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your refrigerator. Upon researching model 59672254200; it sounds like the damper assembly may need to be replaced. The damper assembly allows the cold air from the freezer side to enter the refrigerator section by opening a vent between the two compartments. Once the refrigerator section reaches the temperature it is set to the damper will close the vent between the two compartments not allowing the cold air to enter the refrigerator section until more cold air is needed. So when the damper fails the damper vent can stay stuck in the open position causing the refrigerator section to get too cold and freeze the food inside. I have posted a link of the damper #18 on the diagram linked to view the link click here.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your refrigerator. Upon researching model 59672254200; its sounds like you may need to replace the capacitor. The capacitor allows the compressor to properly start, so when it fails the compressor will click on and off trying to start but will keep turning off. The compressor will normally get hot when it clicks on and off due to a capacitor failure, I have posted a link of the capacitor to view the link click here.
