Question and Answers

Q:

Where is the defrost timer located in a Kenmore Refrigerator with a bottom freezer?

A:

I can appreciate your need for the location of your timer.  I ran a check on your model number and was unable to bring up any information.  But in general, the defrost timer is located in the back of the refrigerator in the machine compartment.  I have located a link that will discuss your situation in more detail.
Click here to view the link.  Though this link discusses a different model number,
the mechanics are likely going to be very similar.Keep in mind that an expert will be
responding within the next two business days if not sooner and will likely offer you more information and
instruction.  If you feel you would need further assistance,  or if you feel like you would be more comfortable
having an expert resolve your issue, I would strongly recommend Sears Home Service.com.  Click here to open to
their page for home service.  I hope this will help you and have a nice day.

Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. The defrost timer (key#14) is located behind the front base grill of the refrigerator. To acces it, remove the bottom grill, unscrew the four bracket screws for the timer and unplug the defrost timer (image below). I hope this helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

I finally did find it on the right side behind the bottom grill. There was a red like round thing sticking out of a black piece of metal a person could turn to test it. Thanks.
