A:

I know how important it is to have a good working refrigerator in the home so that you can keep your food nice and fresh. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I did manage to find a link that describes a similar problem to the one that you are having with your appliance. I hope my link is useful.

Thank you for your question. You have received some good information from Joseph but this appears to be a different problem. I suspect you are referring to the bottom condenser motor when you say the lower vent is blowing air. If the condenser motor and compressor are both running but not the evaporator motor, the problem will be either a defective motor # 4389147 or air damper assembly # 2209751. The cost of these parts will range from 40 to 70 dollars. These parts are available at SearsPartsDirect . Some voltage and resistance checks will need to be made to determine which part has failed. If you have a meter and feel confident that you can safely make these checks please reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further. Any additional details will also be helpful.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Colleen, first it needs to be determined if the compressor is running. If it is running and no cooling is taking place, it will lead to a sealed system problem. In this case, a certified technician will be required to check and repair it. If the compressor is not running, it could be a defective starting device or the compressor itself may be locked. Also check for a poor or loose wire connection. If the wires appear ok, replace the starting device # 67005560 but if the compressor still won't run, then it would need to be replaced. I would recommend having a technician check this. You can call 1-800-469-4663 to schedule a tech to come out.

Q:

Where is the filter located on my refrigerator?

A:

The filter is at the upper right corner in the refrigerator. It fits inside the filter housing. I'm sending you a picture. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
