Thank you for your question. I understand your concern. If the door is not closed good all the time, warm air will enter the freezer and cause this type of freezing effect. Make sure the door is closed good each time it's opened. If the door is opened for long periods of time it can also cause this problem. If you are making sure the door is now being closed all the time but it's still freezing the icemaker fill tube and cup, it will indicate the water valves are not completely closing and allowing water to seep through. In this case, both water valves # 12544001 (primary) and # 12544101 (secondary) will need to be replaced.

I suspect the long stem you are referring to is the auger inside the ice bucket. This is the part that pushes the ice out of the bucket and through the dispenser. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

A:

I know that this information is very helpful especially when purchasing a new one. While you are waiting for you expert answer I was able to do some research. I was not able to find the cubic feet for this unit. If you are replacing the unit, I would suggest that you measure the space the refrigerator is going into, and match those deminsions. This way it will fit in the area. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
