Q:

Freezor not cooling below 20 degrees 59650694001 Kenmore Refrigerator sxs

A:

Looking at the information the freezer is suppose to be at zero and below. Im goanna recommend replacing the start device on the compressor. That is what send the signal to Have the freezer turn on. Could also be a temperature thermostat. I would try to fix before buying a new one simply for the fact that 150$ could fix your refrigerator. Hope this information has help you, any further questions or concerns. You will have to post a new question because at this time I can not reply to any comments. Aging, Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

If you replaced the valve and still get no water then the problem might be with the ice maker or a loose connection.

Most likely the problem is caused by the delivery tube being blocked with ice. There is a tube that delivers water to the ice maker and it goes through the back of the unit to the water supply line from the water valve you just replaced.

If there is no water in the ice maker then the simple thing to do first is use a turkey baster to add some water to the mold. It should freeze and harvest the ice. You should hear the water valve energize with a noticeable hum/buzzing sound. If you hear nothing when the ice is harvested then the valve is most likely not getting any voltage. If you hear a hum but no water makes it to the ice maker then the line is most likely blocked with ice. You can try thawing it with patience or a hair dryer.

You can reply with any additional details for further assistance.

A:

If the water froze to ice then the ice maker thermostat is likely the problem. It is the thermostat, circled in the image below, that triggers the harvest cycle. The ice maker is available from the link listed below.

Q:

How do I fix a frozen fill tube?

A:

The reason the fill tube is frozen is because the water valves are not closing all the way. Water is seeping through creating this problem. Both valves will need to be replaced to prevent this. The primary valve # 12544001 and secondary valve # 12544101 are available at www.searspartsdirect.com . The fill tube extension can be pulled free and cleaned out with hot water. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
