If all the Option LED's are flashing then it's indicating that a power failure as occurred. Press the Start/Cancel pad and then reselect the desired options and cycles.

If it's the Status LED's flashing that were lit during normal operation then this would indicate the door is open or one of the two door switches has failed in the open position. See images below. You may want to try shutting the door firmly and then see if the status lights will quit flashing. If it does, then the door switch assembly may need replacing.

In order to diagnose the failure will require disconnecting the power supply to the dishwasher and then checking the two door switches with an ohm meter for continuity when latched. Remove the screws located at the top of the inner door liner behind the console in order to remove the console and to access the door switch assembly.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

What is the reset code for a Kenmore Quiet Guard Standard dishwasher model 587.16248702?

A:

If all of the status lights are flashing (Washing, Drying and Clean), then this indicates that the dishwasher door is open. In this situation I recommend that you try opening the door and then firmly shutting it. If the lights still blink then the door switch is likely bad.

I do not see a fault code indicated by a blinking Clean light on this model of dishwasher. There is not a reset that would fix this problem. You can try shutting off the breakers for the dishwasher for a few minutes to see if this will reset the control board on the dishwasher. This may work. Once you reset the breakers to restore power, the control may work properly. If not, then the control module (part 154712101) will likely need to be replaced. (You can order this part from the Sears PartsDirect website.) This module could have been damaged when the house power wash shut off and then restored. A power surge or glitch through the electrical lines could have affected the control board.

If you replace this part yourself, be sure that you shut off the breaker for the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components. Metal edges inside the dishwasher can be sharp. Protective gloves are recommended.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I had a repair man come out from Sears for that same problem. He showed me the code, but I have forgotten it. I am dealing with the same issue and do not want to pay to have some one come out just for that so I too am looking to find the code.
