Check the spray arms for cracks or splits. This can prevent the arms from rotating. Check the spray holes for clogs or hard water deposits. Check the water level in the bottom of the tub. Low water level can cause this problem. Start a cycle and allow the dishwasher to fill. Once the filling is completed, stop the dishwasher by cracking open the door. Open the door fully and look at the water level in the bottom of the dishwasher. On most Kenmore dishwashers, the water level should be within 1/4" to just touching the bottom of the heating element in the bottom of the tub. If the water level is low, I recommend that you try manually adding water to the tub to see if the spray arms will operate properly. If so, then the filling problem will need to be permanently resolved to fix this dishwasher issue. Make sure that the water supply cut-off valve for the dishwasher is fully open. Use your installation instructions to access and check the water supply for the dishwasher. Disconnect electrical power and shut off the water supply then reverse the installation instructions to access the water supply line. Check the supply line for proper water pressure and flow. If it is deficient, I recommend that you have a plumber correct this water supply problem. If the water supply is okay, check the inlet water valve screen for deposits or debris. You may need to replace this part if it is not working properly. You may have a clog or restriction in the chopper blade are of the dishwasher that will prevent proper water pressure from making it to the spray arms. Use the procedure below if you have this type of Kenmore dishwasher to access and check this area of the sump. These tips may help you resolve your spray arm problem. A failed pump or many other problems could cause this issue. If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details. You can also schedule for service at www.searshomeservices.com .
