Q:

Water leaking from tub undercarriage. 58716102801 Kenmore Dishwasher

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your dishwasher. Upon researching model 58716102801: it sounds like the sump seal may need to be replaced. I recommend that you unplug the dishwasher power cord and check the sump seal to see if you can detect a leak. When this seal fails it can cause the unit to leak, I have posted a link of the sump seal to view the link click here.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I suggest check the wiring connections inside the electrical junction box under the front corner of the dishwasher. The black and white wires are normally connected with plastic wire nuts. Disconnect the voltage from the dishwasher by flipping the house breaker off before removing the two plastic wire nuts. Make sure the connections are good. If the connections are Okay, then the voltage supply will need to be checked and measured where it connects to the control board. The voltage at the control board is measured across the two black wire to the white wire while the door is latched. Based on your symptom, it sounds like a loose wire connection at the junction box or at the control board or at the door switches.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks for your reply. You were absolutely right! The wires were a bit loose (probably because of vibration). Everything is working now. Thanks again!

Hi Melanie,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The first thing you need to check is the wash motor impeller. If it is blocked or the motor is locked this will cause the issue you have. I am including the disassembly instructions in the images below. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. If the wash motor is not locked and the wash impeller is not blocked you will need to check the wiring and connections from the control to the wash motor. The remaining checks will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have a meter and are confident in your ability to safely perform these checks, reply to this post and I will be happy to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or to purchase any parts needed; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here, and if I may be of further assistance, include more details in a reply to this post.
