Question and Answers

Q:

How do we get dishwasher racks that won’t rust?

A:

Anytime raw metal is exposed to water or moisture you will have rust. Dishwasher racks are vinyl coated to protect the metal from rusting. If the coating cracks, peels or wears off, that spot will rust. If your racks rusted due to Mfg. defects they are covered under warranty for 1 year & will be replaced at no charge.

Q:

How can I prevent the lower spray arm from popping out during cycle?

A:

The spray arm uses two plastic fingers that are supposed to snap fit over the spray arm support (key#62) in order to keep it from coming off when washing. If the plastic fingers are warped or weak it will not likely stay on the spray arm support. Now, if you find that the spray arm support (key#62) is lifting off the like problem is that it is not turned and locked onto the volute cover (key#10). The images I added below will show the plastic fingers that lock keep it from lifting off. You may need a new lower spray arm if the fingers are weak.

Q:

Why is my Kenmore dishwasher not working?

A:

This model does not provide a test for the touchpad assembly, from what you are describing; you will need to have the touchpad replaced. Another possibility would be a loose wiring connection in the control area.
