Hi Thomas,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

I recommend making sure the dishwasher is level. You can try leveling the dishwasher slightly back; this will sometimes stop small leaks. Also check the lower spray arms for cracks or splits, this can cause a wave action that will push water towards the door causing a leak.

You should also make sure the bottom door gasket is in good condition. From the images you included the bottom door gasket looks like it is warped. I recommend replacing that gasket, here is a link to the Gasket .

If the leak is coming from the corners of the door there is a kit you can install the will eliminate this. Here is a link to the Corner Gasket Kit . This kit comes with installation instructions.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post. Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Thanks I will try that...any chances there is a schematic out there identifying components in that front door. I noticed the leak when I ran it on heavy cycle and it was significant...it does seem as if the water could have been sloshing out of the tub because it was a significant amount. Is there a way to run the unit while it is open. Is it safe to remove (aluminum outer shell) and run the dishwasher? Thanks. Thanks for responding any other ideas would be helpful.

Okay here is more information and I'm going to try and add some pics. The water seems to be spraying out of the pan. Is there supposed to be some plastic flashing here?

There are three things you can check that might cause this problem.

The leak might come from the corners though you seem to think the leak is in the middle of the door. There was a know issue with this model leaking from the corners and there was a fix developed. See the first image below.

There is a vent that water might spray into and leak down the middle of the door.

There is a bottom door gasket across the bottom of the door that might leak.

You can take the door panel off and check for any signs of leaking.

I hope this gives you some ideas and things to check. You can reply with any additional details or questions for further assistance.

This dishwasher has a separate drain pump and if the water isn't draining out then the drain pump would be the first part to check.

Often a pump will have a weep hole that will leak if the pump fails.

To get the water out remove the drain hose from under the sink and lower it over a shallow pan. The water should drain out.

The drain pump has a violet and white wire. There should be a circuit across the two. If the circuit is open then the pump is bad.

The 154640201 drain pump is available from the following link: Sears PartsDirect

The image below may help you with this project.

Remember to turn the power to the dishwasher

I hope this information is helpful to you but you can reply with additional details for further assistance.
