Thank you for your question.  Intermittent noises can be difficult to pin down.  New dishwashers or dishwashers that sit idle for any length of time can develop a squeal before it cycles through.  This is because the seals and pump have not had water to lubricate them.  The noise should stop after adding water to the tub or when the cycle is started.  If the squeal is when the dishwasher is filling, this may also be from the water supply, a crimped hose or clogged screen in the hose.  It may also be a clogged inlet valve or bad valve. Unplug the machine and then remove the supply hoses. There are screens inside the ports that the hoses screw onto, clean these out. Put everything back together and reinstall the hoses. Open the water valves and check for leaks. Plug the machine back in and give it a test. If it continues to squeal, close the supply valves just a little, until it stops.

If the noise occurs during during the cycle or when draining, this may be the circulation pump motor assembly or drain pump.  If you hear the noise while it's draining water then the drain pump is likely bad. If it makes the noise while it's washing, the pump motor assembly is likely bad. When it's not making the noise, press the Start/Cancel button and it will start a 90 second drain cycle. If it makes the noise when Start/Cancel is pressed, replace the drain pump.  The two images below may help to make some checks.  Remember to disconnect power to the dishwasher before any service or repair. If the problem continues, you may need a technician to visit again. If further help is needed, please reply.  Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

You are correct in thinking its door latch issue. The control board must see the door open before it will turn off the clean light. The door switch must break the circuit to P2-3 connector when the door is opened. The door switch with the black wires is likely faulty. You can test the switch operation with an Ohm meter. The two solid black wires must break connection when the door is opened. Be sure to disconnect the dishwasher from the power supply before removing the black wires from the door switch and testing it with the Ohm meter for continuity. When the door is shut it should measure continuity. When the door is opened, it should not measure continuity.

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

First please reply with a full model number and serial number if available. Please note the shape of the element. It may be round or it may be squarish and let me know. This problem may be covered under a warranty. To research this and check to coverage I need a model number so I can tell you what options you have if any.

Thank you for the model number. I'm sorry to say there was no service issue with this model dishwasher. If the element melted a hole in the tub then replacing the dishwasher is the best answer. A new plastic tub is available for approximately $186 dollars but you might want to shop first and see what a new dishwasher will cost. Check out the link below.
