Question and Answers

Q:

Why is my dishwasher leaking water at the bottom?

A:

First, be sure the dishwasher is draining completely or it could possibly cause a leak due to overfilling. You did not state where the leak is at so I must assume water is splashing out of the front corners of the tub and not from under the tub. If the water is leaking from the two bottom front corners there is a quick fix. You can install two small splash shields. The part number of the shield is #154701001. See image below.

If the water is not leaking from the corners then you will need to remove the lower kickplate and watch to see where the water is leaking from and resubmit your question with details if needed. It could have a bad pump seal or a loose hose fitting.

The splash shield can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct.

Q:

Why does my dishwasher get stuck in the cycle?

A:

This model of dishwasher has 2 optional thermal holds, one in wash & one in rinse. The unit will not advance until the water reaches a certain temperature in the thermal hold cycles. This is normal. If the water does not come in hot enough, the thermal hold will be longer. Be sure to purge the hot water line before starting the dishwasher. If you do not use the wash & rinse boost options the unit should not stall out in the cycle. If this continues to happen we will need to check the temp boost thermostats & wiring.
