Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

You are correct; the power supply will need to connect to the white and black wires inside the electrical junction box under the front of the dishwasher. The L1 voltage supply connects to the black wire and the neutral wire will connect to the white wire. The copper/green ground wire will need to be attached to the metal frame near the electrical junction box. You can use a power cord or it can be hardwired.

NOTE: Be sure to have the power cord disconnected from the power source before connecting the white and black wires. You can use plastic wire nuts to connect the black and white wires.
