Q:

Why did my Kenmore dishwasher stop working?

A:

Many of the Kenmore dishwashers have a thermal cut-out fuse on the control that will essentially kill the dishwasher even through the breaker is not tripped and it is being supplied with electrical power. Without a specific model number, I cannot tell whether your dishwasher has this type of fuse. A failed door switch, bad control panel, defective electronic control board or a wiring failure could also prevent the dishwasher from working. I recommend that you resubmit your question with the full model number of your Kenmore 665 dishwasher and additional details (any lights on the console). We will be glad to assist you further once we receive additional information.

A:

I have a 2 year old Kenmore Quiet Guard dishwasher, model # 58714019405 that stopped working. I loaded it & it started as normal. Then I opened it to add a dish I forgot and when I closed it, as I sometimes do, it would not start back up again. I've checked the breaker & reset it but it still wont come back on. Can you PLEASE PLEASE give me some ideas on what else to do? I can not afford a repair man at the moment or afford to buy another one. = {
