Q:

Unloader ball

A:

Power washers are great at getting projects done quickly. When one develops problems it can be difficult to pin down due to the many working parts. I see you have checked the parts breakdown in the manual. I attached the schematics at Sears Parts Direct for this model. The exploded parts diagrams often helps to identify parts and where they belong. Hope this helps while you wait for the expert.

Thank you for you question on the water not passing through the pump.

With the engine not running and the water hooked up and turned on you should be able to squeeze the handle on the wand and have water running out but no high pressure.

If not I would check the screen on the water inlet to make sure it is not plugged with debris.

In looking at the parts breakdown I do not see a unloader ball in the unloader assembly. At least they are not calling it out as a part. The unloader check ball will move off the seat only when you are not using the gun while it is running.

Please let me know what you have found, and we can continue our troubleshooting based on that information.

Thank you for the update on the pressure washer. Now it sounds like the un-loader valve is not working correctly. It could be hung up half way and hard water mineral is giving it a problem. It is not unloading and stalls the motor and then not opening when you pull the handle. I would suggest you replace the un-loader assembly. Please check to make sure your orifice nozzle in the wand is completely clean also. The part number for the un-loader valve assembly is: B4179GS for about $42.00. Please let me know what you have found, and we can continue our troubleshooting based on that. Sam A.

Sam A. I can push the unloader in and out with a pair of pliers, it doesn't seem to make any difference in flow or pressure. At this time flow is good, Pressure is nominal at best. do you think changing the unloader will solve problem? I will be in Carol Stream Ill. tomorrow, Do you think that facility would have this part in stock for pickup? Thanks Bill L.

Thank you for the update. It is possible that they may have it in stock, but I do not think so, since it probably does not qualify as in stock part. The parts movement of that part is not very high. For some reason it does not seem to be working the way it is suppose to so that is were I would at least start. But if you are going to be right there it wouldnt hurt to stop and ask. Let me know what you find out. Sam A.
