Q:

Replace or rebuild pressure washer pump? 580767101 Craftsman Pressure washer

A:

Rebuilding the pump is similar to rebuilding a automatic transmission, the main issue is the pump housing.  Most are made of aluminum and corrode causing issues. The best fix is to replace the pump, which is about 70% cost of a new unit. Whatever you decide please make sure to use pump saver it will eliminate these types of issues in the future.

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more then happy to assist you. Check to make sure the inlet screen is not plugged up. Also, remove the screen and look down in the inlet tube and make sure there isn't a lot of calcium deposits build up in there. If those things look good then there may be a problem with the unloader. You can remove the unloader and make sure it's clean. If it looks clean then the unloader itself may be bad. Before you condemn the unloader and get a new one, make sure to take the check valves out and make sure they're clean and not damaged. Q:

how do you put oil in the pump and how much do you use?

A:

When doing maintenance on an appliance I know how important it is to have detailed information to make sure the job is done rite. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I suggest you add to the thread of this question and include the full model number of your appliance so that the expert can provide you with a more detailed answer. I did manage to find a link in where you can enter your appliance model number and the owners manual will pop up. I hope my link is useful.

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to know where and how much oil to put in the pump.

There is an oil cap located on the pump body, and in some cases it is also a site glass.

This pump requires a special synthetic oil and the part number 190586GS which contains 4.6 oz. and also includes some other parts in the kit.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
