Q:

Unloader valve? 580752610 Craftsman Pressure washer

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your pressure washer is not working properly.

The Engine bogs down when the gun trigger is depressed:

1. Engine speed is set to slow
2. Air Filter is dirty
3. The unit has stale fuel
4. There is water in fuel
5. The Engine or Pump is low on oil
6. The Engine or Pump has bearing failure.

Q:

Engine load-stalls after about 2-5 seconds. 580752610 Craftsman Pressure washer

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your pressure washer and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 580752610 and you could have a problem with hydro-lock in the piston. Pull the spark plug out of the piston and see if you can pull that starter cord with the spark plug still removed. You may see oil or gas blowing out the spark plug hole. If you do see oil in the cylinder, check the oil level to see if it is overfilled. Adjust that oil level and see if the engine will start. If you see gas blowing out of the cylinder, then you could have a problem with the carburetor. It can also be the thermal release valve (item 7). I trust this information will help you.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

The engine is perfect and runs fine. As I said above, after it stalls (about when it would normally come to full pressure at the wand) I can't crank the engine for 5-10 seconds until I hear a click in the pump, then it starts fine. Trust me, this is not the engine. Nothing is hot and no water is released to the ground by the thermal release valve.

I have exactly the same problem as John. The Honda engine runs great; starts on the first pull almost every time. However, pressure seems to build at the pump w/o providing any water to the wand and after a few seconds the load kills the engine. I have checked flow in the wand and the hose; no problems. It is definitely in the pump.
