Q:

fuel leak 580327141 Craftsman Generator

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you are experiencing with the carburetor, I know how frustrating that is to have occur.

The issue you are having sounds like an issue with a stuck needle & seat or float issue within the carburetor not stopping the flow of fuel.

You can pull the carb and clean it thoroughly with a full can of carb cleaner, a wire brush, and an air compressor to shoot out the passageways. If you clean the carb, pay close attention to the needle and seat area. I do not see a carburetor rebuild kit available for the engine.

If you don't want to mess with the carb cleaning, there is a replacement carburetor available for the engine. For convenience, I have included a blue link below that you may click on to be directed to the PartsDirect site to view and purchase the carburetor.

This indicates a likely problem with the control board on the generator. Due to the cost involved with replacing this part, I do recommend you get a second opinion just to make sure we're not overlooking anything.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!
