Q:

Generator model #580326300, how do you separate the engine and generator 580326300

Q:

electrical problem 580326300 Craftsman Generator

A:

It's odd that both breakers trip at the same time. If your using an extension cord to run the lights on, it could be too small or too long of and extension cord which will cause a higher amperage and possibly be tripping the breakers but to trip both at the same time is puzzling. Have you tried running just a few floold lights to see if it continues to trip the breakers? Also, the voltage regulator could be getting hot under the load and causing the breakers to trip. I recommend taking the generator in for service.

no extension cords were being used. All lights were direct wired and plugged into generator. wire was properly sized also. I split the lights Into 4 plugs and used only the small 120 volt/ 20 amp receptacles and the problem still occurred. So I changed the 2 25 amp breakers and it now works. My only question is now, can I go back to using my original wiring set up with the big cord? Are these systems rated to where u can plug into the 30 amp receptacle and still use the smaller 20s?

Q:

oil milky white 580326300 Craftsman Generator

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your generator. Upon researching model 580326300, milky white oil indicates moisture in the engine or gas. Smell the oil to see if it smells like gas. If not then it will be moisture. It will be best to do an engine flush then put fresh oil in. Check all gaskets to make sure moisture is not seeping through.

If you have any further questions please re-post. Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.
