Thanks for using ManageMyLife.com

I am sorry, but we do not give repair information on microwave ovens because they are inherently dangerous to service. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. Door repairs and adjustments, even minor ones, can cause microwave leakage, and a microwave shielding leakage test must be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service. That's why I strongly warn you to have this repair handled only by a qualified service technician. You can schedule service online with Sears Home Services or by calling 1-800-4-MY-HOME.
Normally at ManageMyLife.com we like to help you with all of your repairs, but our expert advice is that microwaves are just too dangerous.

Samantha, I wrote this question. I understand the safety issues and have spent 20 years working with and repairing electronic systems, including microwave ovens. I tested both the aforementioned components with a power supply and a digital multimeter to confirm that they were defective. That is why I ordered the new parts. What is not clear from the part description on the Parts Direct website is whether the diode included in the capacitor kit is a replacement for the high voltage diode in this particular microwave or not. The parts direct order people wanted me to request this answer from you to resolve whether or not I need the 505206 diode or was it ordered in error because of the ambiguity in the parts description. Please clear this up for us. Thank you.
