Question and Answers

Q:

Uninstall microwave

A:

I did some research and was not able to locate the manual for the Kenmore microwave, however, it does not stop there.  It may take an expert two business days to complete the research and respond to your specific request.  We appreciate your patience.

A:

First, disconnect voltage to the microwave. Open the cabinet above the microwave & remove the 2 mounting screws that go down into the microwave top panel. Be sure you have someone to help you lift the unit once it’s loose. You can now remove the mounting plate & duct work if needed.

Jerome G.'s response is not accurate. Those instructions apply to newer models, such as the replacement microwave that I would like to install. Because this microwave is 25 years old, it is no longer supported in Sears' system. The owner's / instruction manual is no longer available for download.

Q:

How are the two pieces that make up the door handle for a Kenmore microwave oven joined together?

A:

You will need to remove the handle cover off of your old handle. The cover is glued in position. Use a small screwdriver or putty knife to carefully work the old cover off. Re-glue back on to the new door handle. Be sure to have the door RF leaked checked after the repairs.
