Question and Answers

Q:

Who manufactured this model, 5644488511? 5644488511 Kenmore Cooktop

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issues you're having with the new Samsung cooktop. I know how frustrating that is.

The older cooktop model of 564.4488511 was manufactured by Sanyo. I don't believe they are still making any cooktops for us, as that source (564) is not used on newer models.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

I need an instruction manual for a Kenmore Induction Cooktop Model no. 564.4488511 or 564.4488512.

A:

A cook top is definitely something we depend on and when it begins to malfunction it can be a huge inconvenience. While you are waiting for an expert to respond, I have attached some helpful links below that may provide information to assist you with your question.

I don't have an electronic copy of that manual available online or through our Manage My Life website. The hard copy of that manual appears to still be available through the Sears PartsDirect website. The part number for that manual is 13148. Here is a direct link for that part: Owner's Manual .

Make sure that you are using the proper size of magnetic cookware on that range. You can check the bottom of a pot or pan using a magnet to see if the cookware will work on that induction cook top.

If the cook top still won't work after following the instructions in the manual, you may need to have it serviced. Here is a link for the Sears Service website in case you need it: Sears Home Services .

If you need more help, let us know.

Probably already know this - but are you using magnetic material cookware - this is an induction cooktop - so unless it can sense a steel pan to react to it will beep. It does tis when you remove a pan without turning it off - Aluminum pans will not work

Tom is correct. The cook top won't work unless you are using magnetic cookware. The cookware also has to be the correct size for the burner.

I used to own this cooktop, and wish I still did. When I remodeled my kitchen, I replaced it with a Samsung range with an induction top. I hate it. I want to know who manufactured my old cooktop. Maybe they still make the real glass tops like my old one. I can't use my antique iron skillets on this new one because all pans have to be flush with the cook top. That was not true with my old cooktop. There also seems to be a shortage of power in these new burners. They go off for no reason. If I could find a range with a top like my old one, I'd toss this one and buy it. Do you know who manufactured that model?
