Question and Answers

Q:

age of my snowblower 2003 Dirt Devil Compact refrigerator

Q:

Have flat tire on a model 536.886331 snow thrower and want to remove it to get it repaired. Right hand tire. How do I remove the tire and wheel?

A:

Remove the little hub cab and you will see a "C" clip. Use a screwdriver to pop the C clip off and then the wheel should pull off of the axle. It is very likely stuck so you may need to put some penetrating oil on the axle and reapply that every so often over the period of a day or so to let it soak in and do what it does.

I have a flat left hand tire. There is no "C" clip. There is a nut and bolt which I've removed, but the wheel won't budge off the axle. I'd really appreciate some advice!

Q:

auger gear case fluid 536886331 Craftsman Snow thrower

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

The grease inside the gear case is white lithium grease. You can buy white lithium grease at most auto parts stores, hardware stores, or building supply stores. Put a generous amount of grease on the gears inside the gear case after replacing the gears.

The gear box is permanently lubricated with a good grade of White Lithium grease and should not need to be greased. There should be a small pipe plug threaded into the LH side cover that can be removed in order to add grease if needed.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.
