Q:

I want to change the oil on my snow thrower and where is the oil drain plug located? 536884791 Craftsman Craftsman 5hp snow thrower

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

The oil drain is comprised of an oil drain extension and cap. They are located on the opposite side of the engine from the carburetor at the very bottom. The extension and cap would resemble the image below:

Q:

Snow Thrower model 536.884791 536884791 Craftsman Craftsman 5hp snow thrower

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. Hi Joe, I linked a diagram below. The armature magneto is number 100 in the diagram. Follow the spark plug wire to the square box which would be the armature magneto. There should be four screws that hold it in. For the carburetor any carb cleaner would be good. If it’s the gumout jet spray carb plus choke cleaner then that would be good. I would recommend removing any rubber gaskets or seals before cleaning. There are small air holes in the carb and sometimes fully cleaning those can be difficult. I’m sure you will not have much trouble if you have done carbs before.

Q:

Replace snowblower elec starter and loping questions 536884791 Craftsman Craftsman 5hp snow thrower

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your snow thrower. Upon researching model113244420; the starter will just unbolt from the engine. I would check the spark plug being that if it’s old it could be corroded. There is also the armature magneto that plug into the spark plug. The armature could be worn out. Also it would be best to clean out the carburetor with some carb cleaner.

Thank you for choosing Sears. Have a great day.
