Q:

What type of gas does this snow thrower use? 536884300 Craftsman Craftsman 20

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

This Craftsman engine 200.663111 made by Tecumseh is a 2-cycle engine and will take a 40:1 fuel/oil mixture. I have linked the applicable service manual below for the engine. The fuel/oil mixture ratio is mentioned within the first pages of the manual.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Hi djrm, i ripped an auger out of one of those flange bearings while "unplugging" the xmas lights with a single stage 2-cycle 'thrower a few years ago. Maybe a little rust on the auger's driveshaft. Have you tried lithium grease to lube it?

i did try the searspartsdirect website that was how i got the original part shipped it also appears that the shaft is not going in 100/percent into the bearing maybe 90 but i definitely will try the lithium grease to see what happens. It just doesnt make sense as to why they would sell a plastic vinyl bearing to have a shaft rotating so fast causing the boring therefore wasting out the plastic On the pulley or belt end it appears that there is a metal type bearing (plate bearing no. 583459MA) that doesnt run down. I was wondering if there was a part similiar that might work

The 577023MA bearing is the only bearing listed that will work for this. It has been my experience that there is almost always something else out there that will work. But trying to track something like that down is almost impossible unless you just happen to come across a similar application using another part.

I dont show that this part is a high usage part so there may be something else going on causing it. Something like that should be easy enough to see though. It could also be because the machine is older so there just arent many of them out there anymore.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!
