Q:

when I pull on starter rope it fails to engage. any advice before I take starter off? 536882600 Craftsman Sears craftsman 26 in. 7-h.p. snow thrower

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your snow thrower. Upon researching model536882600; the best advice I can give is to replace the complete starter assembly as one unit. When replacing components it can be difficult to re assemble correctly. If replacing components in the starter it would be best to take pictures of disassembly.

Thank you for choosing Sears. Have a great day.

Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are having a problem with snow blower. The wire from the key should connect to the same wire on the housing. The wire on the housing should be insulated, and only ground out when the throttle lever touches the metal tang on the insulated holder. The image below shows this set on a new unit. If it does not match yours, please reply below with an image of yours. I will be happy to take a look at it and mark the locations.  I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.    Thank you for using Manage my life. Mark
