Q:

Carburetor part number/model for 536.297024 536297024 Craftsman Tiller

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears and contacting us with your question about a part for your Craftsman tiller model 536.297024. I am so sorry the carburetor needs to be replaced. I will be happy to help you with this.

In this case the replacement carburetor assembly is no longer available, however, most of the repair parts and kits for the carburetor are still made. The carburetor is listed under the engine model number 200.691011.

I have included the link below for you to view the engine diagrams.

If you click on the carburetor diagram, the parts list will appear to the right side of it. You can use the parts list to see if the parts you need to rebuild the carburetor are available and order the ones you need.

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Q:

no spark 536297024 Craftsman Tiller

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
In order for spark to occur, you would need to ground the screwdriver's metal shaft to something metal at the same time like the cylinder. Just putting the screwdriver into the boot and pulling the rewind starter will not produce spark.
I actually prefer to attach the plug back to the boot once removed and ground the base of the plug to the cylinder to check for spark. It's simpler and easier in my opinion. However, either method will work as long as they are touching or grounded to metal.
Hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

I have a 536.297024 cultivator. The gov spring has come off, and another one. Where do they go?

A:

We do not have any drawings or schematics for this model other than a general parts breakdown. That doesn't show the information you need. Tecumseh, whom manufactured that engine, is no longer in the engine business so I don't have anyone I can directly contact about that either. You may check around at a local shop to see if anyone has any kind of information about that model engine or can maybe put it
