Q:

Owners manual for Craftsman Chipper Shredder Model #521.244913 & Serial # C93-2434

A:

I know how useful the owners manual can be since it carries some great information. I am adding a link below in where you may be able to buy the owners manual if it is still being made. I hope this helps while you wait for your expert response.

The company that made your machine has gone out of business. Agri-Fab bought up the parts and such that were in place when that happened (wasn't actually a buy out though). Agri-Fab has no technical information available on these machines or any kind of documentation on them.

I've went back and forth on these things for a couple years now trying to come up with any useful information and just keep coming up empty with my searching. I replied back to the other thread you posted on about this.

I used to service 2 of these machines with customers; I contacted both of them to see if I could make photo-copies of the manuals. One person got rid of his machine and the other no longer has the manual for it. I went through all my boxes of manuals when I was back home for Christmas and I don't have anything on it either.

The only thing we do have is the ability to get part numbers for them. You can go HERE with the model number to pull up the parts images. Other than that, we're stuck in the water where this machines are concerned.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!

I see you need owner and parts manual for your craftsman shipper vac. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question. The model number you provide has came up as a water heater. I attached the link below just in case it helps! Hope this helps!

The model you provided, 24491, doesn’t show to be a good number for me either. I checked everything in the 244 series and all the products are snow blades and sweepers. I know exactly what machine you have, but I cannot verify that model number with any of them.

Double check the model number again. If there is a serial number, that will also help me track down what machine you have. Also, I want you to describe the machine features to me as well. If you can see a model number from the engine, that will help. Brand of engine? About how old is the machine?

The more detail you can give me on it, the better for me to figure out what it is you have.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!

I'm still working on this for you. So far, everything I can come up with doesn't have the same top. So it's not the same. I can clearly recall seeing these unit years back. I'm just not having any luck locating one in our system. I will see if I can get any help from the manufacturer on this and maybe they can help us out. While I'm working on figuring out a good model number, are there any problems with it that we need to address or do you just need the manual and parts manual for it?

to wade b. I have no real problems with the unit, I've done a lot of work on it already. I'm a decent fabricator and was able to remake or repair the things I needed. I really would like to have the manuals though. Thanks you for your support, I hope we can come up with something! Dan

I contacted the manufacturer that makes these unit for us and didn't get very far. They say the model number is not theirs. I can look at the machine and see that it's theirs. Most manufacturers won't get into a product discussion unless there is a correct model and serial number. Since the model number isnt matching up, they simply say "Not ours" and that's that. I've checked every way I can think to check and cannot find a model that looks exactly like yours in our system. I'm going to check with another technician I know and see if we can't come up with something for you. I'm sorry this is taking so long but I am determined to find you a manual. In the meantime, if you have a way to photograph the model/serial number tag and post that here, that would be helpful. At least then I can pass that photo around so everyone will see the model number printed on the sticker.

I have good news. The complete model number for your lawn vac is 521.244913. It was manufactured by a company named "Evergreen". I checked a few random parts and show that several things are still available for it. For the engine, you would use the engine model number and those parts should be easy to obtain if needed since it's a Briggs and Stratton engine. I am unable to locate any form of an owner's manual for your vac though. I put a few "feelers" out and if I get any bites on it I will let you know.

Hi Wade: I have the same problem that Danny has/had but I was able to track down my model # 521.244913 & serial # c93-2434. I posted my Question back in 2009 but did not get an expert to answer it. Anyway I am still trying to find an owners manual myself. I called Sears Parts Direct & they gave me the phone number of an Evergreen company in Northern Michigan, but when I called them they made Fire Suppression equipment. They said that Fire Suppression equipment was all that they have ever made. Do you think that you may be able to help? Do you know if Danny was ever able to find his manual? Thank you Bob
