I suspect that you have the digits on that model number reversed or incorrect. On the disposers that are close to that model number, the splash guard is part number 1010A. Here is a direct link for that part that has a photograph of the component: Splash Guard/Mounting Gasket 1010A for Kenmore Disposer Model 175.60452.

I hope that this information helps. If you need further assistance, reply with additional details and an updated model number if possible.

I got the right part number. I am looking right at it: 175.60542. I suspect that this part number has changed since I purchased the disposer at Sears, maybe 12 years ago. With the newer disposers one need only to pull out the old splashguard and place in the new one. On my disposer, one needs to drop the disposer, remove the old splash guard and replace it with the new one and then remount the disposer. You mention a Splash Guard/Mounting Gasket 1010A which may be correct, but the part number - 60683 - doesn't sound right. I think that's the one I took back. What now?

It looks to me like 1010A is the correct part number for the "Elite" Kenmore disposer. Question: do I need to get a Flange (part # 5170 AE) and a Gasket (part # 1160) to remount the disposer and seal it tight? Thank you so very much for your assistance.

It looks like the newer disposer model number is 175607930. (from a conversation in 2011) They think 1010A will fit my disposer. Thanks again.

Replacing the flange and gasket is not always necessary. If you suspect that they are damaged or that they would leak then I recommend that you replace them. It is better to replace them is you have any suspicion that they will not seal properly. Let us know if you need more help.
