Q:

Speedway Pro 5hp compressor motor needs a start capacitor Mod #50-80G

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
Unfortunately, it doesn't appear we stock the parts for this Speedway Pro compressor. I also tried search for Sea Knight capacitors, but came up empty handed.
I would find a local electrical supply house that sells start capacitors and they may be able to help you match one up. Outside of that, you could run an internet search based upon the specs on the capacitor and see if you can locate one that way.
Hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

That original rack that is part number WB48X5080 is no longer available. There is a possibility that the replacement rack part WB48X82 will fit that oven. That part WB48X82 is 20" wide and 17.5" deep. You can measure the dimensions of your oven to see if that rack will fit. I cannot guarantee that the rack will fit since it is not listed by the manufacturer as a direct replacement. If you think that it will work, you can order that rack from this page: Oven Rack WB48X82.

I hope that this information helps. If you need further assistance, reply with additional details.

Q:

Why does this Samsung refrigerator make ice so slow?

A:

This is the proper way to check ice production as listed from Samsung:

  • Start with an empty bin and run the unit for 24 hrs at the default settings (0-36).
  • 12 trays or 120 cubes should be made during this time.
  • If 50-80 cubes are made during this time, try the test again using a lower temp setting or the Power Freeze function. If it's ok now, the problem is the environment and these settings should compensate.
  • If less then 50 cubes are made a technician will be required.
This can be a difficult check for a technician. There are some sensors that may need to be checked.

I have recently bought a new Samsung fridge and discovered slow ice production. I found out that I had the freezer temp setting too high. I had it at -2 degrees which is recommended but apparently Samsung isn't very good about freezing the ice so you have to set it to -4 or -6 degrees. Another issue may be that your water filter needs to be replaced. Replacing the water filter will increase water flow to the ice maker. Try that and see if ice production is faster. For me with a family of 5 and my wife and I drinking cocktails every night it wasn't enough even with the faster ice production. So we ended up buying a second fridge but chose Whirlpool which can fill an entire bucket of ice in 24 hours. Samsung is more like 2 days. The fridge installer even said Samsung is one of the worst at producing ice while Whirlpool is the best.
