Question and Answers

Q:

Sub Zero 501R (23 years old) periodically leaks water.

A:

Recurring puddles on the floor can be upsetting. The expert will review, but I would agree if there are no water lines connected, then condensation, possible the drain pan may be the issue. I attached the owner's manual if needed and the link to Sears Home Services if it turns out to more complicated. Both links are below.

When I first say your question I thought the problem would be a defrost drain problem but you say the water leaks from the right front corner which I believe would be the refrigerator section. If there is a gap in the gasket condensation can form and cause a small leak. If the defrost drain is clogged then water will drip during the defrost cycle. The fact the leak only occurs every few days makes it more difficult to pin down.
