Thanks for the information about your wall furnace model 5009622, I will be glad to assist you with this. Based on the information provided and considering what you have already done, replace thermostat and related wiring I suspect the issue is with the pilot or the safety cut off. The pilot on this unit must burn properly for the unit to operate correctly. The pilot flame must not just burn it must burn with intensity, the most common failures is caused by the pilot not having the hot flame required. I suggest that you clean the pilot assembly and retry operation. This unit (if the model number is accurate) has a safety cut off that will prevent the main burner from operation should it be open. To test just by-pass the safety cut off and if furnace works installs a new safety cut off. (Do not operate furnace with the cut off by passed this is only for testing)   I hope this helps, if you need additional help reply with added details and I will be happy to respond, If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.Ron H.

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem with the heater. I see this model has a vent safety switch. If there is a problem with the vent system, this switch will open and keep the burner off. You can use a jumper to connect the 2 black wires from this switch together. Be very careful when connecting these wires. I recommend using a pair of gloves. Now, turn the system on and if the burner ignites, the vent will need to be checked for a restriction. I strongly recommend having a technician check this due to the hazardous conditions that can result, if the heater does not work properly. I'm listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services.  I hope this helps you.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the furnace. Usually when the pilot will not stay lit it is because of the thermocouple or thermo generator. I recommend relighting the pilot first. If the flame goes out when you release the button, I recommend replacing the thermocouple or thermo generator depending on your model. The parts list covers many different models of the furnace. You will need all the information off the model number tags when ordering the parts. Once you have all the information please reply below with it. I will be happy to look up the correct part for you. A picture of the gas valve will also help determine the correct parts for your furnace.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Mark T. Thank you for the image of the gas valve. Your model uses a thermo generator. When heated the thermo generator produces enough volts tor hold the valve open so the pilot stays lit. If the pilot is not being blown out, I recommend replacing the thermo generator first. I have posted a link below that will take you to order the thermo generator. If the pilot keeps going out the problem is likely a defective gas valve. Please let me know if you need further assistance on the furnace.. Thank you for using Manage my life. Mark T.
