Q:

poulan pruner Model PP338pt has type 1 & type 2 what is the difference PP338PT TYPE 1 Poulan Trimmer (us/canada)

A:

I can understand how important it is to have the right information for your Poulan pruner. There is only one difference between the PP5500p and the PP5000p saw heads. The PP5500p head has a versatile 2 piece shaft and the PP5000p only has the straight shaft. I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help. Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

A:

There is no adjustment on the choke for your trimmer. I suspect the engine is drawing air from somewhere other than through the carburetor.

Be sure the gas in the trimmer is mixed properly and is less than 5 weeks old or has fuel stabilizer added.

Check the carburetor mounting screws and the carburetor adapter for looseness.

Check the fuel lines for cracks or rubbed places that might be leaking air into the system.

If you don't find the problem you can take the trimmer to a Sears Parts and Service Center or a Sears Retail Store for repair. You can find the nearest location at [www.searshomeservices.com].
