Q:

Heat (radiators) worked yesterday today no. Light on boiler Call for Heat Circulator Pump. Can you fix? 4EW125ZBTP Dunkirk Boiler

A:

I can see how an issue with the boiler would affect many other things. The expert will review to respond within two days, if not sooner. If a technician is needed, the Sears Home Services link below will help.

I'm not sure what you're trying to write other than the boiler is not heating which could be any number of problems. The indicator light on the boiler control; is it flashing a code that indicates there is a call for heat? Does the beckett burner ignite and can you provide the model number for the becket burner.

If the becket burner control has a reset button on it, have you pressed it? If not, press it once and observe. Whatever you do, do not continue to press the reset button.

I had a heating guy come look at it. He was literally- looking at it- and it just "came on". He said everything was fine that he check out but probably "the box" needed replacing (to the tune of $600), as it was probably giving out an intermittent signal. He could not get the boiler to repeat the fail so... we had him clean it and paid for a service call (~$200).. will wait on the next fail before going to that expensive replacement. Thank you VERY MUCH for your responses. it's a Dunkirk Kenmore PNX8ENG2 purchased in 2002. The repair guy said the unit was still in very good condition, so wish me luck on it not failing for another 10years (smile) Happy Holidays!

It probably misfired which happens from time to time. There is a reset button that you can press once. If it comes back on, great, leave it be for a bit. If it goes out again, then it's time to call out the pro's. Boilers and especially the oil burners can be extremely dangerous.

Glad you have your heat back. Stay warm and I too hope it lasts many more years without requiring service!
