Question and Answers

Q:

install clear lid WT5070CW Lg Washer

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about replacing the lid on your LG washer model wt4870c with the clear lid from model WT5070CW. I understand wanting to verify the part will fit before you purchase it.

I am happy to research this for you, however, I was not able to find a conclusive answer. The washer top cover that the lid sits down into is the same on both models, meaning the lids are the same size. That being said, the bracket assemblies for them are different. This means, even though the lid will sit in the top of the washer, it may not secure the same. Because this information is inconclusive, I recommend you contact LG directly. I have included their contact information.
I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

A:

Thank you, Yadira. I've read that. My washer is at 72 degrees for warm and for hot, except the one time it was at 113 for warm. I am just trying to figure out who is telling me the truth about what to expect -- LG tech support or LG service technician. Very frustrating to have a new washer that does not work. Service in the first 24 hours with a second service call already scheduled is NOT a great sign, IMO.

I understand your concern with the operation of a new washer. The information in the expert link provided by Yadira is correct. These are target temperatures. Your model does not have a heater. The thermistor sends signals to the water valve to add more or less hot or cold water depending on what is coming in. It cannot exactly regulate this but it is a target. If the thermistor or the water valve is not functioning properly, then this would be a problem. You have done the correct thing since your washer is new and under warranty. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
