I know how important it is to be able to maneuver around with your sweeper, for this reason I would look in the owners manual for some good tips. ManageMyLfe.com is a great place to find your owner's manual and installation guides for appliances. I did some research and found the owners manual. I have attached the link below. Your expert will follow up and verify this information shortly. Pull the wheel off and make sure the sprockets are even with each other. The chain should be straight between the 2 and not at an angle. If the chain looks good, check the shaft/bearings for the brush bar. If that's tight or not turning well for some reason it will surface at the wheels.

Let me know what you find with this. It sounds like you've already lubed everything there so I don't suspect that as being the problem. I will also mention that if you have the brushes set too low they will grab which will cause the machine to drag and not allow the wheels to turn.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!

I have a lawn sweeper too but I don't know what model it is and its having the same problem of one of the wheels not turning. This is an old one though cause it doesn't have a chain just gears for the sweeper to turn when the wheel turns. I'm going to oil it but I don't see what the problem is.

Amy,

I am sorry you are having a problem with the sweeper. If the wheels are locking up the problem could be the brush is set too low. I recommend checking the height first. If it is set to the correct height, you will need to remove the wheel and investigate. If you need assistance with this, please reply below with the model number of the sweeper. Once I have the model number, I should be able to provide you with the instructions for cleaning and lubing the drive.

I hope to hear from you.

Thank you for using Manage my life. Mark.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the sweeper. If the chain came off, I suspect the chain is worn because there is not an adjustment for the chain. Before replacing the chain I recommend installing the chain and see how loose, it is. To in stall the chain you will need to remove the ratchet sprocket and the gear sprocket. The put the chain on both sprockets and slide them back onto the shafts. If the chain seems loose, go ahead and order a replacement chain. The parts can be ordered from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct .

I posted the instructions for servicing the sweeper below.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
