Question and Answers

What do the numbers on the flow control lever represent. They are just numbers! Is it pounds/ 100 sq.ft., there is nothing in the instructions?

Hi Charles, The numbers relate to an industry standard for most lawn care products that allow for proper application . If you look on the packaging of the product you intend to use, you will see a chart that will tell you what rate to use for your yard. There will be a "NUMBER" that will tell you what to set your spreader at. What you are really changing is the amount of product that will be dispensed. Usually a higher number will spread more product and will cover less area. Use this calculation to determine how much product you will need for the job. This allows you to use different brands of product with different brands of spreaders and will give you the right ratio. Good Luck

The numbers on the flow control lever correspond to the numbers on the bag the fertilizer comes in. There will be a chart on the fertilizer bag recommending the setting for application.

The numbers don't translate to pounds per square feet. The instructions on the bag recommend a pounds per square foot setting and recommend the number for different spreaders.
