Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

You did not clarify if the lower oven will operate properly or not. I will assume the lower oven is operating correctly because it uses a mechanical thermostat to control the lower oven and not the electronic oven control.

Based on your symptom I would have to suspect a faulty electronic oven control.

I added a link to the Use and Care Guide that will show the dimensions of the oven and the cut out specifications needed for the one you have now.

The oven is considered a 27 inch wall oven. The width of the cut out and height is shown in the Use and Care Guide on page 6. I added a link to Sears.com where you can look at all the wall ovens and the specifications to fit your needs.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

You are correct that the lower oven is working fine. So is the upper oven clock and timer. When the temperature and BAKE lights go out, no error number is generated. I take it that given that the electric oven control is no longer available, you believe I need to replace the oven. Would you advise that I pay for a service call to confirm, or is that just a waste of money I could put towards a new oven?

MarkPatters: It would likely be a wast of time and money. I recommend to go shopping for a new oven and apply the money you saved towards a new oven.

Q:

How can I repair a Kenmore double oven model 911.4832990 when the ERC is no longer available?

A:

I don't recommend altering the product. Altering the product can result in unsafe conditions that could result in electrical shock, burns or fire. Since the ERC is no longer available, it is time to replace the oven.
